| A view of the east end of Bournemouth station with a Class 33 heading a cross country service which will go via Reading, Oxford and Birmingham alongside a 4VEP unit waiting to go as a stopper to Waterloo. The service pattern from Bournemouth was fast xx.40, cross country xx.50, semi fast xx.56, stopper xx.13 - the stopper waiting at Southampton for the following fast to overtake. Another 4VEP, 7745, seen at Eastleigh on a Bournemouth to Waterloo stopper. This type first appeared with a batch of 20 for the Bournemouth line electrification, subsequent building of more than 100 units saw them becoming widespread on all sections the Southern. |
